I am certain that this wasn’t a cone hit - it was a clean run, and my fastest of the day

If any cone touches part of the box and is standing, it’s still good!

Truth fact.  That said, when I hit a cone, I usually make it count, lol.

Is the Scion faster in autocross than the Mustang was? Being able to keep the speed up must be great.

I think they’re about the same but I’m improving more in the Scion compared to where I’d hit a wall with the Mustang. I think it’s more rewarding to drive than the Mustang was.

I’d be interested to see how  the ISF is. The ISF was developed at Fuji which seems like a pretty tight track, but its not Autocross tight.

How heavy is it? That’s what I would think would be its biggest issue. Size certainly doesn’t help but you can learn size. Weight and weight transfer would kill you.

3800 lbs. Would be a full 2 tons by the time you add me.

And the Scion is on the much slower Falkens, swapping them out for RE71's would make you 1.5 to 2s faster over a 50s course.

The ISF is far too heavy to be good at autox. Lightness is king of the cones. With the same tires (type not size) and the same driver (or at least equally skilled), I’d bet the FRS would be at least a full second faster than the ISF on most autox courses.

I really wish someone else in my region had a S550 GT on RE71s so I could compare my time in each. It’s hard for me to say if I’m faster in the FRS than I was in the Mustang - I guess if I go back and compare old raw time standings, or maybe how I compare to particular drivers that are at a consistent level I can get an idea.

Actually I’m now on Direzza ZII’s. It’s much faster than it was on the Falken’s. Unfortunately the weather made a comparison to another driver in SSC difficult over the weekend, but on Saturday we ran a test and tune and the conditions were similar between us, I was about a tenth slower. He’s a better driver than I am, the last time we ran our cars together I was still on Falkens and a solid half second slower than him.

Of course a Focus RS in DS with me ran like 2 seconds faster than I did on Sunday...
